Louisville, Kentucky 2004
This trip was the start of what would become my true passion in photography - urban landscapes. I love traveling to new cities and wandering down unknown streets. I feel that by photography the world in this way, I truly learn about a place. For the Louisville series, I tried to focus on finding complementary colors and subtle ironies in each of the shots. My overall goal is always the same however, to express the unique voice of that place in a way that reveals more than what one picture can show.
I consider Louisville, Kentucky to be my home town - so it is appropriate that my primordial start in urban landscapes be founded here. All of these images were taken in the downtown area near the Ohio River.
